FACILITY USE

Facility Use Rules

The following rules apply to all facility reservations at Picayune First Baptist Church. Effective November 1, 2018.

  1. 1. Reservations and Approval

All facility reservation requests must be submitted through the church office and are subject to approval by church leadership. Requests should be submitted at least 30 days in advance, except for weddings which require additional lead time per the wedding policy.

  2. 2. Approved Use

Church facilities are reserved for activities consistent with the mission, ministry, and beliefs of Picayune First Baptist Church. Activities that contradict the church's statement of faith are not permitted.

  3. 3. Member vs. Non-Member Use

Active members of Picayune First Baptist Church may use the facilities at no cost (deposits may still apply). Non-members and outside groups are subject to facility-use fees per the published fee schedule.

  4. 4. Deposits

A refundable cleaning and damage deposit is required for all events. Deposits are returned within 14 days of the event provided the facility is left in original condition.

  5. 5. Insurance

Outside groups must provide a certificate of liability insurance naming Picayune First Baptist Church as additionally insured. The certificate must be on file with the office at least 7 days before the event.

  6. 6. Alcohol and Tobacco

The use, possession, or distribution of alcoholic beverages or tobacco products is strictly prohibited on church property at all times.

  7. 7. Food and Beverages

Food and beverages are permitted only in designated areas. The Sanctuary, Worship Center, and classrooms with carpeting do not permit food or drink other than water.

  8. 8. Setup and Cleanup

Renters are responsible for setting up tables, chairs, and equipment, and for returning the facility to its original configuration after the event. Trash must be bagged and placed in the designated dumpster.

  9. 9. Decorations

Decorations must be free-standing or attached only with painter's tape. Nails, screws, staples, and adhesive that damages walls, floors, or ceilings are prohibited. Open flames (candles) are not permitted except battery-powered alternatives.

  10. 10. Sound System and Audio/Visual Equipment

Operation of the sound system, projector, or A/V equipment requires a trained operator. Coordinate with the church office at least one week in advance to arrange for an operator.

  11. 11. Children and Supervision

All children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Renters are responsible for the conduct of all attendees, including children.

  12. 12. Parking

Parking is available in the church lots only. Vehicles parked on the grass, blocking driveways, or in handicap spaces without proper permits will be towed at the owner's expense.

  13. 13. Building Hours and Lockup

Events must end by 10:00 PM. Renters are responsible for ensuring all lights are turned off, doors are locked, and the alarm system is set before leaving.

  14. 14. Damages

Renters are financially responsible for any damage to the facility, furniture, or equipment beyond ordinary wear. Damages exceeding the deposit will be billed separately.

  15. 15. Cancellation

Cancellations made more than 14 days before the event will receive a full deposit refund. Cancellations within 14 days forfeit 50% of the deposit. Same-day cancellations forfeit the full deposit.
